Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, managing daily accounting activities, and ensuring compliance with Ethiopian financial regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
- Process tax declarations and statutory filings using the ERCA/eTax System.
- Manage VAT, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax, Pension, and other statutory obligations.
- Manage import and export documentation through the Ethiopian Electronic Single Window (ESW) and eTrade Platform
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings through the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) Online System.
- Prepare and process payroll in coordination with HR
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of financial records
- Recommend improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations.
- Hands-on experience using the ERCA/eTax System for tax filing and compliance
- Familiarity with the Ethiopian eTrade Platform, Electronic Single Window (ESW) System, and Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) Online System.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Peachtree, Odoo, or similar ERP systems).
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google APPS
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
